The “Unregistered Land” Program announced that the statutory deadline for registering unregistered land located within the geographical boundaries of the city of Taif and the Jazan region is nearing its end, nearly six months after the announcement of the implementation of the first phase of land fees in Taif and Jazan last January.
The program clarified that this announcement aims to remind owners of unregistered land subject to the regulation in Taif, as well as in Jazan, Samtah, and Abu Arish in the Jazan region, to register their land on the online portal for unregistered land fees, idlelands.housing.gov.sa before the deadline on July 29, 2021, in accordance with the previously announced geographic scope, to avoid a non-registration fine of up to 2.5% of the land’s value, in addition to the imposition of fees on their land.
The program confirmed the start of the first phase of the vacant land fees in Madinah, Asir, Taif, the Jazan region, Tabuk, and Al-Ahsa, covering undeveloped land with an area of 10,000 square meters or more, and located within the scope defined by the Ministry. Implementation will be extended to other cities, including Hafar Al-Batin, Al-Qassim, Hail, and others; announcements regarding these cities and the details of fee implementation there will be made in the coming period, based on the results of studies conducted by the program team in collaboration with relevant authorities over the past period, as part of efforts to achieve the program’s three main objectives: increasing the supply of developed land to achieve a balance between supply and demand, providing residential land at affordable prices, and protecting fair competition and combating monopolistic practices.
It is worth noting that the “White Land” program conducts periodic reviews of the application of fees in the program’s target cities to monitor the outcomes of implementing the system on white land and to determine whether to move to the next phase, suspend implementation, implement more than one phase, or skip a specific phase and move to the next phase within the same city.
