Foreign investments in the Saudi market reached approximately 276 billion riyals, a record high.
As of the end of last July, the value of foreign investments in Saudi stocks stood at 276.7 billion riyals, accounting for 2.86 % of the market value of approximately 9.69 trillion riyals at the end of the same period.
Compared to the same period last year, the value of foreign investments rose by approximately 55.5 %, as it stood at 177.96 billion riyals at that time.
The main market index rose by approximately 26.7%, closing at 11,012 points at the end of last month, compared to 8,689.5 points at the end of 2020—its highest monthly close since September 2014.
Saudi stocks attracted, during 2020, attracted foreign capital inflows totaling 18.7 billion riyals in net purchases—the second-highest level since foreigners were allowed to invest directly in the market in 2015—despite the COVID-19 pandemic.
