The “King Salman Park” Foundation has awarded contracts worth 3.85 billion riyals to a group of Saudi companies to carry out portions of the King Salman Park project.
According to a tweet posted by the foundation on its Twitter account, these contracts include site preparation work, the construction of a number of tunnels and bridges on Abu Bakr al-Siddiq Road and Al-Orouba Road, as well as infrastructure work and site preparation for the Royal Arts Complex.
The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, had launched the project on March 2019four major flagship projects in the city of Riyadh, with a total cost of 86 billion riyals, including: the "King Salman Park Project," the “Green Riyadh Project,” the ”Sports Trail Project,” and the ”Riyadh Art Project.”
"King Salman Park" is the world’s largest urban park, covering an area of 13.4 square kilometers. It is being built on the site of King Salman Air Base (the former Riyadh Airport) and serves as an environmental – recreational – cultural – and investment project, featuring parks, green spaces, and open plazas covering an area of more than 9.3 million square meters.
The park contains residential, office, commercial, and hotel facilities, including: residential complexes offering 12,000 different housing units; 16 hotels offering 2,300 hotel rooms; and commercial spaces for restaurants, cafes, and retail totaling over 500,000 square meters; and office complexes covering an area of 600,000 square meters.
