The Ministry of Municipal, Rural Affairs, and Housing announced that it has begun issuing licenses for institutional quarantine facilities qualified to host unvaccinated corporate workers arriving from outside the Kingdom, following coordination with the relevant authorities.

These measures are part of the significant efforts being made by the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to limit the spread of the COVID-19 «COVID-19,» and to ensure full preparedness and coordination among relevant authorities to receive arrivals at ports of entry safely and securely, in accordance with health precautions and by providing quarantine rooms for all,

Comprehensive Services at Quarantine Facilities

The Ministry emphasized that the requirements for institutional quarantine facilities are based on key factors including location, building, design, and specifications, restrooms, lighting and ventilation, the central kitchen, staff and workers, and facilities and services. These requirements include the obligation to maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of all residential facilities, contracting with a pest control company to disinfect the property, and contracting a cleaning company to clean, disinfect, and sanitize the residential units and their facilities. It also includes the obligation to provide security cameras and security and surveillance teams, allocate sufficient restrooms, and provide security measures for the facility, maintaining a website to issue reservations for arrivals via a QR code and providing it to the airline, receiving guests and transporting them from the airport to the institutional quarantine facility; contracting with accredited medical laboratories to conduct two COVID-19 tests for each traveler; and providing health awareness materials about COVID-19 and the reasons for quarantine.

25 Licensed Facilities

She noted that the total number of institutional quarantine facilities that have applied for certification in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, and Dhahran reached 25 licensed buildings, with a total capacity of 3,276 individuals. Of these, 10 licensed facilities with a capacity of (1,669) individuals have been rehabilitated, noting that properties eligible to serve as institutional quarantine facilities are approved immediately upon receipt of the application, following verification of their compliance with the specified requirements, standards, and specifications, Details of approved quarantine facilities are also published on the Ministry’s online platform, and the Ministry reaffirms its commitment to implementing on-site monitoring procedures at these facilities through field visits to verify compliance with requirements, the presence of staff, and adherence to quarantine protocols.
