The “Unregistered Land” program has set December 7 as the deadline for the regulatory period specified for registering white lands located within the geographical boundaries of Al-Ahsa Governorate, following the announcement last June of the start of the first phase of land fees in Al-Ahsa.

The program clarified that this announcement aims to urge owners of unregistered land subject to the system in Al-Ahsa to register their land on the online portal for unregistered land fees before the deadline expires, to avoid a non-registration fine of up to 2.5% of the land’s value, in addition to the imposition of fees on their land.

The program confirmed that the results of studies conducted by the program team in collaboration with relevant authorities over the past period have led to the implementation of the system in a number of cities and provinces. The first phase has been applied to undeveloped land—including plots of 10,000 square meters or more— located within the areas designated by the Ministry of Municipal, Rural Affairs, and Housing in Madinah, Asir, Taif, the Jazan region, Tabuk, and Al-Ahsa, with plans to expand to other cities, the details of which—including the specifics of fee implementation—will be announced in the coming period.

It should be noted that the Ministry of Municipal, Rural Affairs, and Housing conducts periodic reviews of the situation in each city to determine whether to apply the fees to land there, suspend their application, or implement one or more phases to move beyond a specific phase and proceed to the next phase within the same city.
