Data from Ministry of Justice data showed that the number of mortgaged properties registered by notary offices in the Kingdom has reached approximately 19,000 properties since the beginning of the current Hijri year (130 days), with residential properties accounting for about 70% of them.

Notary offices in the Riyadh region led the number of mortgaged properties with 9,403 properties, accounting for 48.5 percent of the total, followed by the Makkah region with 2,980 properties, then the Eastern Province with 2,199 properties. The Tabuk region recorded 929 properties, followed by the Qassim region with 925 properties, the Madinah region with 905 properties, the Jazan region with 322 properties, Hail with 286 properties, and Najran with 246 properties.

As for Al-Jawf, the number of mortgaged properties there has reached 235 since the beginning of the current Hijri year, followed by Al-Baha with 183 properties, and then the Northern Border Region with 109 properties.
