The Ministry of Commerce issued 45 export licenses for cement and steel over the past year, with 26 licenses issued for steel and 19 for cement.
The ministry reported that it has issued 254 licenses since exports of cement were first permitted, including 150 licenses for steel and 104 for cement. It noted that licenses are issued after the conditions and requirements specified in accordance with the regulatory guidelines of the ministerial committee—comprising the Ministries of Commerce, Investment, Finance, Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources, and Environment, Water, and Agriculture—have been met.
