The Housing Program issued 10,716 electronic contracts for residential land for Saudi families benefiting from the program during the first quarter of this year, including 1,837 contracts issued in March via the “Sakani” app, as part of its diverse housing and financing options designed to facilitate homeownership, in line with the objectives of the housing program —one of the programs under the Kingdom’s Vision 2030—to raise the homeownership rate among Saudi families to 70% by 2030.
He explained “Sakani“ in a press release today that the land contracts issued during the month of March included 1,066 plots in the Makkah region, 240 plots in the Riyadh region, 36 plots in Madinah, 102 plots in the Qassim region, 88 plots in the Eastern Province, 32 residential plots in the Asir region, 46 plots in the Hail region, 7 plots in the Northern Border Region, 89 plots for “Sakani” beneficiaries in the Jazan Region, 108 plots in the Najran Region, 9 plots in the Al-Baha Region, 9 plots in the Al-Jawf Region, and 5 plots in the Tabuk Region.
The program noted that this number is an extension of previously issued electronic land contracts within the plans made available by the “Sakani” website and app “Sakani“ website and app for families benefiting from housing support in all cities and regions of the Kingdom through simplified electronic procedures, noting that the land plots range up to 500 m² each, and that reservation procedures, as well as site visits and review of land plots and plans, can be completed through the "Sakani" program’s website at https://sakani.sa.
“Sakani” offers a number of housing options and financing solutions to meet families" needs and aspirations, including access to subsidized mortgage loans for the purchase of ready-to-move-in housing units, as well as the purchase of residential units under construction within "Sakani“ projects in partnership with the private sector, in addition to subsidized mortgage loans for self-construction for those who own residential land.
It is worth noting that the “Sakani” program, through its website and app, provides a range of housing services, including immediate eligibility determination, the issuance of price quotes, access to real estate advisory services, selection of model designs for self-builders, electronic issuance of building permits, and online financing, along with the ability to browse diverse housing options for units under construction overseen by the Off-Plan Sales and Leasing Committee across 115 projects offering approximately 150,000 housing units, the majority of which are located in major residential suburbs are being developed by the National Housing Company (NHC) in major cities.
