Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing Majid bin Abdullah Al-Haqeel conducted today an inspection tour in Makkah and the holy sites, during which he inspected the Ministry's preparations for the Hajj season this year 1443 AH, and the readiness of the plans and projects of the Ministry and the Holy Capital Municipality and its programs in the field of maintaining public health and food safety, and environmental sanitation works to serve the pilgrims. This is part of the Kingdom's efforts to provide the best services to the pilgrims during the Hajj season.
He reviewed the readiness of municipal centers in Mina and Arafat, and inspected the municipal services sites, as well as the places where pilgrims disembark in Muzdalifah.
He also inspected the preparations and plans for hygiene work, public health and food safety programs, environmental sanitation work, road maintenance, operation of lighting systems and cleaning rain and flood water drainage networks, where he viewed a model of municipal service centers inside the holy sites, in addition to the work of the Municipality in raising the readiness of 58 tunnels in Mecca and the holy sites that serve pilgrims, in addition to ensuring the readiness of cadres, work teams and mechanisms in Mount Mercy and other feelings, estimated at 22 thousand personnel.
