The Council of Ministers has approved the Kingdom’s new tourism law as part of a series of improvements and developments to the regulatory and legislative framework for the tourism sector, with the aim of fostering its development and growth, thereby contributing to the development of national tourism and attracting investment to this sector.

In this article, I will discuss an important and integral component of tourism—the lodging sector—and what the regulations entail for this sector, where some investors face difficulties with requirements and obtaining licenses, The law has established a new mechanism to facilitate the licensing of hospitality and lodging establishments by creating a comprehensive service center and a unified electronic platform. This will make it easier for investors from all regions to access services and connect with all relevant authorities and requirements in one place, thereby simplifying and expediting the process of obtaining services and licenses. It willbe clarified in the implementing regulations to be issued, God willing, regarding the center’s procedures and operations.

There is no doubt that there is a strong desire to vigorously promote tourism as one of the key pillars of the Kingdom’s economy, and the Kingdom is undoubtedly well-equipped for this, given the availability of all necessary resources. which is why, in recent years, we have witnessed a growth in tourism that continues to expand year after year—as evidenced by the indicators—which will create promising investment opportunities and generate job opportunities for citizens. In closing, I always say that the future holds even greater promise, God willing.
