In light of the current circumstances in the region, the General Authority for Tourism and Antiquities has announced the cancellation of the opening ceremony for the 2015 Saudi Travel and Tourism Investment Forum, which was scheduled to take place tomorrow under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdul Al-Aziz, Governor of the Riyadh Region and Chairman of the Region’s Tourism Development Council, and in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Chairman of the General Authority for Tourism and Antiquities, in addition to postponing the opening ceremony of the Tourism Excellence Awards, scheduled for next Monday, to a date to be determined later, and limiting the event to the conference sessions and the exhibition accompanying the forum. A statement issued by the Authority explained that the cancellation of the opening ceremony came following coordination with His Highness the Governor of the Riyadh Region in light of current circumstances and the launch of Operation «Decisive Storm» to support the rights of our Yemeni brothers and uphold legitimacy in Yemen, a country dear to us all, The statement noted that the forum’s sessions will be held starting next Monday in the Buraydah Hall at the InterContinental Hotel from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., while the exhibition and accompanying workshops will be held at the Riyadh International Exhibition and Convention Center from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
