His Excellency Majid Al-Hogail, Minister of Municipal, Rural Affairs, and Housing, presided today over the opening ceremony ofFuture Projects Forum in its fifth edition, organized by the Saudi Contractors Authority in Riyadh, with the participation and attendance of 41 government and private entities. The forum showcases details and developments of more than 3,000 projects valued at one trillion Saudi riyals
In his speech, His Excellency the Minister emphasized that such events play a major role in strengthening communication between the public and private sectors, and in sharing information, data, and expertise with local and international contractors, which significantly contributes to the precise planning of their projects, thereby enhancing contractors“ performance and enabling them to secure suitable opportunities.
His Excellency explained that the construction sector represents a fundamental pillar of the Kingdom’s growth and prosperity, as it plays a key role in enabling many of the initiatives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and serves as the primary driver of numerous important sectors.
He said: ”The government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud—may God protect him—pays close attention to developing and supporting this sector through the establishment of the Saudi Contractors Authority as one of the initiatives the government has introduced for this sector, in addition to restructuring its board of directors to include government representatives alongside their counterparts from the private sector, with the aim of achieving integration and harmony between the public and private sectors to identify opportunities for development and growth, as well as the issuance of the gracious directive to form a permanent coordinating committee comprising members from various government agencies to develop the construction sector."
For his part, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Contractors Authority, Engineer Zakaria Al-Abdulqader: ”In our beloved homeland—praise be to God—we are blessed with unprecedented growth in the Kingdom’s economic indicators under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince —may God protect them both—the Future Projects Forum has been launched to herald a new development boom in the construction sector by showcasing nearly 3,000 projects with an estimated value exceeding 1 trillion riyals, and we look forward to welcoming more than 3,000 Saudi and foreign contractors, as well as those interested in the construction sector from 16 countries around the world, to this forum and the accompanying exhibition.”
Engineer Al-Abdulqader added that registrants from outside the Kingdom accounted for 25% of the total attendees, which reflects the importance of the Authority’s role in organizing this forum to highlight the scale of future opportunities and projects, as well as the Kingdom’s future needs in the construction sector—as it serves as the executive arm for Kingdom Vision 2030 projects and the primary driver of many key sectors.
