Diriyah Company has reached a remarkable milestone by completing 50 million hours of injury-free work across all its projects that welcomed one million visitors in the five months following the opening of the first two projects in its diverse portfolio, with a daily workforce of more than 21,000 workers using more than 1,100 pieces of heavy equipment to set new regional standards in terms of excellence in occupational health and safety management.

With the aim of optimizing safety practices and conditions and providing a safe working environment with maximum protection standards, it provides relevant stakeholders, from project management consultants to construction teams, with a tried and tested framework to avoid construction accidents and monitor and minimize risks.

Ensuring employee health and safety

The company's Occupational Health and Safety Department is responsible for ensuring the health and safety of all employees and ensuring that their activities do not put anyone at risk. The Emergency and Disaster Management Program of the Occupational Health and Safety Department also ensures effective response to all emergencies at all its construction sites, in cooperation with the relevant authorities.

In a global testament to the excellent management of the project, the international accreditation body TUV Austria, which specializes in testing, inspection, conformity and quality, recognized that Diriyah's OSH management system is fully compliant with ISO 45001 standards and that there are no conflicts between the two. The Quality of Life Program adopted by the General Directorate of Occupational Health and Safety has established a set of internationally recognized standards for worker welfare that all main contractors, subcontractors and companies operating in Al Diriyah Company must adhere to. This is confirmed through monthly inspections carried out by company representatives, and if necessary, adequate corrective measures are taken within four weeks from the date of issuing the inspection report.

In line with the highest standards, Diriyah's Occupational Health and Safety Department has developed and implemented an Occupational Health and Safety Management System throughout the project, enabling it to implement and monitor relevant international standards on a regular basis, a testament to the company's commitment to worker welfare and best-in-class project management.
