Jassim Mohammed Al-Badawi, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), revealed that the number of licenses granted to GCC citizens engaged in economic activities in other GCC countries has exceeded 60,000, and the total number of beneficiaries of the decisions regarding Real Estate Ownership approximately 162,000 cases of ownership.
In the field of stock trading, the number of shareholders from GCC countries in joint-stock companies in other GCC countries reached 431,000 shareholders in 682 joint-stock companies with a capital of $376 billion, and he said “Joint Gulf cooperation has achieved significant economic accomplishments in the recent period, which has benefited Gulf citizens; total intra-GCC trade rose to approximately $105 billion in 2021.”
This came during the 109th meeting of the Financial and Economic Cooperation Committee of the GCC Ministers of Finance and Economy, held in the Omani capital Muscat, chaired by Sultan bin Salim Al Habsi, Omani Minister of Finance and Chair of the current session, in the presence of the GCC ministers of finance and economy, with Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Jadaan, Minister of Finance, heading the Kingdom’s participating delegation.
