His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Eastern Province and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Al-Bir Society in the region, presided today at the provincial headquarters over the handover of 50 housing units to beneficiaries of the Society’s services from the most needy families, These are in addition to the housing units previously handed over, bringing the total to 1,178 units out of 4,000 housing units for which His Highness had signed an implementation agreement between the Al-Bir Society in the Eastern Province and the Ministry of Municipal, Rural Affairs, and Housing, with atotal of 1.3 billion riyals.
Development of the Most Needy Families
His Highness also witnessed the signing of a number of development agreements for the Society aimed at supporting the most needy families and providing university scholarships, training and job-readiness opportunities, as well as development opportunities in all educational, athletic, and social fields.
His Highness the Governor of the Eastern Province emphasized that the association is making significant efforts to provide suitable housing for beneficiary families and those most in need, in collaboration with various agencies, to fulfill the aspirations of the wise leadership “May God support them” to increase homeownership rates among citizens in general and those in need in particular, in partnership with the Ministry of Municipal, Rural Affairs, and Housing, represented by Developmental Housing.
He highlighted the positive impact of the supporters" contributions to this project on the lives of families benefiting from the Society’s services and on fulfilling the dream of many of them to own a home that guarantees them a dignified life.
His Highness the Governor of the Eastern Province then honored a number of supporters of the Developmental Housing as well as the association’s programs and activities and the work team, who contributed to the success of the association’s development plans and programs.
Providing Safe Housing
For his part, the Association’s Secretary-General, Dr. Yusuf Al-Rashid, praised the support of His Highness the Governor of the Eastern Province, Chairman of the Association’s Board of Directors, and His Highness the Vice Chairman for the Association’s programs, emphasizing the Association’s commitment to providing safe housing for the most needy families in the region and establishing scientific and objective criteria that ensure the units are delivered to those who are eligible, as well as providing financing, borrowing, and repayment channels to help beneficiaries meet their financial obligations with ease and convenience.
He noted that the Association continues to enter into partnership and cooperation agreements with private-sector companies as part of the sector’s social responsibility, adding that the Association signed today, under the patronage of His Highness the Governor of the Eastern Province, six development agreements covering cooperation in the fields of education, training, and employment, as well as scientific and social research, educational and family studies, and other areas.
It is worth noting that last Ramadan, His Highness the Governor of the Eastern Province handed over 576 housing units to families benefiting from Al-Bir Society in the region.
