His Royal Highness Prince Alwaleed bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Alwaleed Humanitarian Foundation, has renewed his commitment to his initiative to provide 10,000 homes as part of the Foundation’s Developmental Housing Project, as well as providing 10,000 cars, benefiting a total of 100,000 Saudi citizens over the next 10 years.
This decision came as a result of research studies that found that the primary concerns for many Saudi citizens today are securing housing and transportation, which constitute the greatest burden on the family budget, especially since most Saudi families are young families whose incomes remain at the subsistence level, as young people constitute the majority of the Saudi population according to the latest official census of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which is why His Royal Highness Prince Al-Waleed agreed to support these projects.
The first project involves fulfilling the Alwaleed Humanitarian Foundation’s previous commitment to provide 10,000 housing units benefiting 10,000 Saudi families, or an average of 60,000 Saudi citizens, given that the average family size is approximately six people. One thousand units will be delivered annually to those who do not qualify under the Ministry of Housing’s system, The Foundation’s work serves as a complementary solution to the housing crisis facing Saudi society.
The second project involves providing 10,000 cars to eligible families—at a rate of 1,000 cars per year—who do not own a vehicle and rely on hired transportation for their travel, which places a financial burden on the family. By securing a car and housing, families will save significant amounts of money, thereby increasing their income. The eligibility criteria and distribution mechanism for both projects will be available on the Alwaleed Humanitarian Foundation’s website.
It is worth noting that the “Alwaleed Humanitarian Foundation” has been working for 35 years to launch and support projects in more than 92 countries around the world. The Foundation collaborates with a wide range of educational, governmental, and charitable organizations to combat poverty, empower women and youth, develop communities, and provide aid during disasters. We also strive to build bridges of understanding between cultures through awareness and education. By working together, we will build a world filled with tolerance, compassion, and harmony.
