The Tabuk Region Secretariat issued more than 5,000 construction permits last year (2023), covering 10 different types, including permits for construction, renovation, fencing, demolition, and others.

The Deputy Secretary-General for Urban Development, Engineer Yusuf Al-Atwi, explained that occupancy certificates topped the list with 1,689 certificates, 1,117 building permits were issued, and more than 70 permits for rectifying existing conditions, and 1,281 component permits. He noted that the data for 448 building permits was updated and amended, 58 renovation and demolition permits were issued, and ownership of 293 immediate-use building permits was transferred.

He noted that the procedures for issuing building permits are fully automated through the Baladi portal, which helps streamline service requests for beneficiaries, improve the quality of services provided, and drive urban development in the region.
