The Saudi Ministry of Justice has launched an electronic real estate registry project with the aim of streamlining administrative procedures for inquiries about real estate holdings and preserving real estate deeds held by judicial authorities while protecting them from damage and loss.
The Ministry of Justice issued an urgent circular to notary offices and courts throughout the Kingdom regarding the use of registered payment methods when conducting sales and purchases of land and other real estate.
A circular was issued by the Undersecretary for Notarization Affairs, based on a telegram from the Minister of the Interior, stating that ordinary checks will not be accepted in real estate transactions; only certified payment methods may be used, and these must be presented during the transfer of title at the notary office or court.
