The control efforts of the Municipality of Jeddah in following up building violations during the month of February 2024, resulted in the detection of 3,476 violations in a number of neighborhoods, as part of its tasks to improve services, address visual pollution and improve the urban landscape of the city.
The Municipality explained that the control efforts carried out by the sub-municipalities during the past month come within the framework of an intensive support plan to improve the urban landscape and monitor building violations in all its forms, indicating that the field work resulted in notifying 9,121 violating sites to correct their status according to the law.
The violations that were monitored varied between the absence of a sign at construction sites indicating the license data or lack of maintenance, the absence of a container for building restoration waste, increasing the distance of the barbecue from the maximum permitted distance between the property line and the temporary fence, in addition to the deterioration and lack of maintenance of the temporary fence, and failure to contract a qualified waste carrier from the Municipality during construction, demolition or restoration work.
