Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs Abdullatif Al-Sheikh signed contracts for 23 projects to rehabilitate roads, asphalt, lighting and bridges for a number of regions and cities of the Kingdom, at a total cost of (1,122,337,317) riyals.

M.Abdullatif Al-Sheikh signed 7 contracts for the implementation of a number of projects for the construction of tunnels, intersections, rehabilitation and development of neighborhood roads and streets, lighting, and asphalting grant schemes in Najran Governorate and its affiliated centers, and the total cost of implementing those contracts amounted to 377,368,368 riyals,453 riyals, including the construction of the King Abdulaziz intersection tunnel with Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq, the construction of a tunnel to connect King Saud Road with Prince Miteb Road, as well as the rehabilitation and development of streets and lighting, and the asphalting of municipal grant schemes in Najran, in addition to signing the contracts for the first and second phase of road paving in the Najran region, and the contract was signed to implement the second phase of asphalt, sidewalks and street lighting in Al-Baha Governorate at a value of 23,405,820 riyals.
<The new contracts also included the implementation of a number of bridge construction and road development projects in Tabuk, with a total value of SAR 166,145,000, including the rehabilitation of streets and the development of the old town, the implementation of the second phase of the development of the ring road, and the construction of a number of pedestrian bridges on main roads. The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs has directed the secretariats and municipalities to apply the approved technical standards and specifications in all road maintenance and implementation projects, address asphalt defects and remove all excavations, according to the technical bases and standards set by the Ministry to classify road defects.
