The assets of local and foreign investment funds in the Saudi market grew by approximately 5%, an increase of 5,460 billion riyals by the end of the fourth quarter of 2023, to reach a total of 122,578 billion riyals, compared to 117,117 billion riyals at the end of the third quarter of the same year.

This growth was supported by the increase in local assets, which grew by approximately 7%, with an increase of about 6,348 billion riyals, to total about 101,182 billion riyals, constituting approximately 82.5% of the total assets of investment funds, according to data from the monthly statistical bulletin of the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) for February 2024.

The number of subscribers increased quarterly by approximately 4% to reach a total of 1,080,455 million by the end of Q4 2023, and the number of active funds grew by approximately 3% to reach a total of 291 investment funds.

The assets of investment funds by investment type were distributed among 9 different investment types, the highest in terms of value; the assets of “local stocks” worth 27,904 billion riyals, accounting for approximately 22.8% of the total assets of investment funds, secondly, the assets of “real estate funds” worth 24,730 billion riyals, accounting for approximately 20.2% of the total investment assets, and thirdly, the assets of “real estate funds” worth approximately 20.2% of the total investment assets.
