The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development announced an update to the requirements for documenting employment contracts via the Qawi platform, by raising the target compliance rate to 85% effective April 30, 2026, with the second phase set to raise the rate to 90% by the end of June 30, 2026.
The Ministry clarified that the compliance rate is calculated directly by comparing the number of registered contracts to the total number of employee contracts at the establishment, which allows establishments to track their performance accurately and clearly, as the update to the regulations is part of the Ministry’s efforts to enhance compliance with labor regulations, increase transparency, and protect the rights of all parties to the contractual relationship.
The Ministry calls on all establishments to begin reviewing undocumented employment contracts and to complete the notarization procedures via the “Qawi” platform, to ensure they meet the required percentage and avoid any difficulties that may affect their ability to benefit from services linked to compliance indicators.
It is worth noting that the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development is working to enhance compliance among private-sector establishments and improve the quality of contractual relationships; the notarization of employment contracts is a fundamental pillar for ensuring rights and obligations and increasing transparency in the workplace.
