Jeddah Municipality detects 5,214 building violations in a number of neighborhoods during the past month

Regulatory efforts by the Jeddah Municipality during the month of June to the detection of 5,214 building violations in a number of neighborhoods, as part of its efforts to improve services, address visual pollution, and enhance the city’s urban landscape.

The Secretariat explained that the inspection efforts carried out by the sub-municipalities over the past month are part of an intensive support plan to improve the urban landscape and detect building violations of all kinds, noting that the field operations resulted in notices being issued to 11,334 non-compliant sites to bring them into regulatory compliance.

It noted that the violations detected ranged from the absence of signs at construction sites displaying permit information, to a lack of maintenance of such signs, the absence of containers for building renovation waste, and the distance of stockpiles exceeding the maximum permitted limit between the property line and the . Other violations included dilapidated or unmaintained temporary fences, as well as the failure to install temporary fences at construction sites.
