The “Sakan” Foundation Signs a Partnership Agreement to Provide 700 Housing Units in Al-Baha

The partnership involves the ministry and the Al-Baha Association and aims to provide homeownership to the neediest families through a variety of housing solutions over a five-year period.

The Community Development Housing Foundation “Sakan” a partnership agreement with the Ministry of Municipal, Rural Affairs, and Housing, and the Al-Baha Association for Developmental Housing; with the aim of providing 700 housing units to the most needy families in the Al-Baha region.

The agreement aims to allocate housing units to the most needy families in the Al-Baha region who meet the eligibility criteria for housing support, through the participation of the parties to the agreement, with the agreement extending for five years from the date of its signing to achieve family stability for the project’s beneficiaries, increase homeownership among citizens, and boost the nonprofit sector’s contribution to the gross domestic product.

The project provides housing units to beneficiaries through a number of housing solutions, such as: purchasing ready-built units within the Ministry’s projects; building on land allocated by the Ministry; and building on land owned by eligible beneficiaries or on land owned by partner associations.

The Community Development Housing Foundation “Sakan” is a civil society organization whose Board of Trustees is chaired by His Excellency Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, Minister of Municipal, Rural Affairs, and Housing. It seeks to stimulate community engagement and participation through innovative initiatives, including the “Jood Al-Iskan” and the “Solution for Housing Innovation” initiative, through which “Sakan” works to lead and empower the nonprofit housing sector to provide sustainable solutions and enable home ownership for target groups.
