His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, launched the Meydan One project presented by Meydan City Corporation during his visit to Cityscape Dubai 2015 in the presence of a crowd of VIPs. The project is located on an area of 3,671,000 square meters and is expected to become Dubai's premier destination when its first phase opens by 2020.
Meydan One can accommodate more than 78,000 people and will include landmarks such as the 711-meter-high Dubai One Tower, Meydan One Mall, dancing water fountains, a four-kilometer-long aqueduct and a 100-boat yacht marina.
Meydan One is expected to break the record for the largest yacht marina in the world when it opens in 2020. The project is expected to break at least seven world records, with the depth of its design vision attracting high levels of international attention, and the mega-project model attracting thousands of visitors and potential investors to Meydan's dedicated exhibition stand at Cityscape Global.
Cityscape Global's Meydan pavilion was also well attended. <The Dubai Water Canal, a joint venture between the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), Meydan City Corporation and Meraas, will include the 2.9-kilometer-long canal connecting Business Bay to the Arabian Gulf, Crystal Lagoons at Safa Park, as well as 8.1 kilometers of waterfront and 8.2 million square feet of open space, a 5.7 kilometer promenade, a 1.1 kilometer natural beach and pedestrian walkways connecting Safa Park to Jumeirah Beach Park.
The towers of Safa Park will lead to the Jumeirah Beach Park and Jumeirah Beach Park.
Crystal Lagoons Towers Located between Sheikh Zayed Road and Safa Park, the ground floor of the 35-story high-end residential towers will feature townhouses with private gardens facing Safa Park, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, two two-story villas to be built at the top of the towers, and three-story penthouses. Common amenities in each tower will include an Infinity pool, gym, event space, childcare and a dedicated play area. <Saeed bin Humaid Matar Al Tayer, Chairman and CEO of Meydan, said: “This year is a major milestone for Meydan City Corporation, and I believe it will be a landmark year for us.
