UAE's Miral wins Best Existing Retail Project at Cityscape Awards

The Abu Dhabi-based developer Miral won Best Existing Retail Project for its Welcome Pavilion & Cascade Dining project at the Cityscape Emerging Markets Awards, held at the Conrad Hotel in Dubai. Internationally, projects from developers and designers from Oman and Qatar won several awards.

Asia took home eight of the 13 awards for projects in Hong Kong and China, with design firm IDEAS taking home the top prize. The number of entries in the Sustainable Projects category was increased to four, with the final award going to Ronald Low and Partners and the Department of Tourism and Cultural Services for their collaboration on the new Ko Shan Theater Pavilion project in Hong Kong.

This year's awards focused on the theme of “sustainability”, which has become a hot topic for developers and designers as many projects have achieved high levels of environmental, economic, social and cultural responsibility.“

Milcan Gursel Tabanlioglu, partner and designer at Tabanlioglu Architects, winners of the Best Residential Project Award for their Kent Istinye project in Istanbul, said that this is the 12th year that his company has participated in Cityscape Global and was able to win many awards in previous editions.
