Urban planning in the region aims to improve the quality of life in residential plans and make them human-friendly by providing proper infrastructure, facilities, pedestrian walkways, and increasing the green area.
Engineer Abdulaziz Al-Rabie explained that the approval of residential plans has become easier and faster through the “Geographical Portal of the Eastern Province Municipality”, which allows electronic submission of plans, and it currently takes 90 days to approve the plan, noting that the ”Geo Explorer“ application is a comprehensive database that collects all information related to plans, licenses and infrastructure, and everyone can benefit from it.
Rabie said that the Ministry of Urban Planning and Regional Planning in the General Department of Urban Planning in the Eastern Province Municipality has become easier and faster. <The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing is working to create an urban identity for all regions of the Kingdom, including the Eastern Province. He praised the response of engineering offices in designing buildings according to the urban identity of the region, pointing out that the naming and numbering of streets is done by specialized committees led by the Secretariat and the Emirates of the regions, according to specific criteria and approved dictionaries and terms.
