NEOM has signed a partnership agreement with a local contractor to establish a SAR 700 million green ready-mixed concrete batching plant complex that includes a number of specialized factories designed to support construction operations in The Line, the cognitive city currently being developed in NEOM.
NEOM has signed a partnership agreement with a local contractor to establish a complex of ready-mixed concrete batching and production plants at a cost of up to SAR 700 million.
”The construction of the concrete plant complex is another milestone in a series of achievements that highlight the continuous progress of NEOM's projects and emphasizes the status and leadership of the construction sector in the Kingdom and the pivotal role played by local partnerships in the efficient implementation of this exceptional sustainable project,“ said NEOM CEO Engineer Nazmi Al Nasr.”
The state-of-the-art concrete plant complex will adopt the best sustainability solutions, including the use of carbon capture and utilization (CCU) technology and energy saving solutions, while most of the production will be used in the construction of The Line, as concrete is a key material for the construction of the project's infrastructure and core facilities.
Construction of The Line is progressing at a rapid pace, with nearly 1,000 of the more than 30,000 foundations poured to date. The new complex is scheduled to begin operations next month, supported by a fleet of equipment and vehicles, and is expected to be fully operational in 2025, creating more than 500 new local jobs.
The opening of the complex comes at a time when construction work at The Line is progressing at a rapid pace, with nearly 1,000 of the more than 30,000 foundations poured to date, supported by a fleet of equipment and vehicles.
