Palm Hills and Abu Soma Tourism Development Win Awards at Cityscape Egypt 2015

The judging panels for the Cityscape Egypt 2015 Awards announced the winning companies at the exhibition, with Palm Hills being named the winner of the Best Residential Project of 2015 for its Golf View project, This announcement was made at the exhibition’s awards ceremony, held in Cairo on Thursday, with the participation of major real estate companies and sponsored by Lafarge Cement. The company is currently implementing an extension of its award-winning project, the “Golf Extension” in 6th of October City, which features 27 distinctive golf holes within its grounds.

For his part, Shehab Mazhar, Managing Director of Engineering Affairs at Palm Hills, affirmed that the company had the honor of winning this award as a result of the tremendous efforts made by its employees.
Abu Soma Tourism Development Company won the award for Best Community, Cultural, and Tourism Project for the first phase of the “Soma Bay” project. On this occasion, Engineer Ibrahim Al-Masri, CEO of Abu Soma Tourism Development Company, expressed his delight at celebrating this achievement, explaining that the company looks forward to launching the next phase of the project, and that winning this prestigious award represents a mark of excellence.
This year’s awards ceremony saw a 20% increase in the number of nominations for the best projects, and new categories were introduced for the awards, including community, culture, and tourism projects, with the aim of highlighting the growing potential of developments in the cities of the future, as Egypt seeks to meet the increasing demand for real estate across all residential segments.
Fouter Molmen, Director of Cityscape Group, emphasized that the increase in nominations this year is a true testament to the growth currently being witnessed in the Egyptian residential and commercial markets, noting that the submitted projects stood out as the best on the ground.
The international jury at Cityscape selected 23 finalists from the list of nominations across seven categories: Best Existing Mixed-Use Project, under construction, Best Commercial Project, Best Existing Leisure Project, Best Cultural and Tourism Community Project under construction, and Best Residential Project.
Ayman Sami, Director of JLL in Egypt and a member of the judging panel, said that there are several elements to the projects that win Cityscape awards, including being unique in many aspects, such as design, services, and amenities, noting that the awards ceremony is an excellent opportunity for developers to compete in the future.
Cityscape Egypt celebrated the official opening of its exhibition yesterday, which will continue until next Saturday at the Cairo International Conference Center. This leading real estate event is holding its largest edition to date in terms of space, with a 15% increase compared to last year, demonstrating the strength of the local market—a trend recently reinforced by developers’ plans, which will be announced during the four-day exhibition.
