The General Real Estate Authority , in collaboration with the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, carried out during the month of October, 15 joint inspection tours, which included visits to 192 real estate facilities in the Riyadh, Eastern, and Makkah regions, as well as the Madinah region in cooperation with the regional municipality.
These inspections aim to ensure compliance with real estate legislation in general andthe Real Estate Brokerage System in particular, as well as matters falling within the jurisdiction of the participating government agencies regarding Saudization and improving the urban landscape to enhance the quality of life—which is one of the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
The Authority clarified that fieldwork is one of the avenues it is pursuing to regulatethe real estate market, with its inspection teams conducting 19,633 on-site inspections during the same period, resulting in the identification of 764 non-compliant real estate advertisements in public places, The Authority also received 271 real estate complaints through its various channels, all of which were addressed and resolved, while the number of electronic scans exceeded 13,717. The Authority employs electronic monitoring targeting digital channels and real estate platforms to verify the compliance of advertisements and digital real estate brokerage practices with applicable laws and regulations.
The General Real Estate Authority called on real estate brokers and service providers to comply with real estate regulations and to familiarize themselves with the violations to avoid penalties, which include warnings, license suspension or revocation, or financial fines. The law’s implementing regulations specify the classification of violations and the corresponding penalties, The Authority also called on citizens and residents to file reports in the event of suspected real estate violations or fraud through the reporting channel on the Authority’s official platform or by calling (199011) for real estate inquiries.
