The General Real Estate Authority announced the start of physical registration of real estate for 37,023 parcels across 24 neighborhoods in the Makkah region, beginning on December 8, 2024, corresponding to 7 Jumada al-Akhira 1446 AH, through the end of March 13, 2025 AD, corresponding to Ramadan 13, 1446 AH..
Neighborhoods benefiting from the real estate registry
The Authority clarified that the neighborhoods benefiting from the Real Estate Registry at this stage include the following neighborhoods in the Makkah Al-Mukarramah region: (New Al-Shamiya Neighborhood, part of the New Al-Shabika Neighborhood, part of the New Al-Falq Neighborhood, part of the New Harat Al-Bab Neighborhood, part of the New Al-Qashashiyah Neighborhood, part of the New Al-Masyal neighborhood, part of the New Al-Hajlah neighborhood, part of the Tawa neighborhood, part of the Taybah neighborhood, part of the Al-Hamra neighborhood, part of the Al-Yamamah neighborhood, part of the Al-Khadra neighborhood, part of the Ma’ad neighborhood, part of Al-Jami’ah District, part of Al-Sanabel District, part of Al-Tarwiyah District, part of Al-Shara’i District, part of Al-Maqam District, part of Wadi Jalil District, part of Al-Safa District, part of Al-Maghmas District, parts of Al-Adl District, parts of Qurtuba District, and parts of Al-Khadra neighborhood), noting that the neighborhoods were selected based on specific criteria, and that the remaining regions, provinces, and neighborhoods that will undergo real estate registration in various areas of the Kingdom will be announced in due course in the coming periods.
The Real Estate Authority noted that the initial real estate registration in these regions and neighborhoods will be available through the electronic real estate registry platform https://rer.sa/ or through service centers, and that real estate registration requires a title deed that meets the regulatory requirements to complete the registration process.
The Authority called on property owners in the areas and neighborhoods subject to in-person registration to verify their title deeds and ensure they meet the necessary requirements in preparation for the start of registration, Inquiries regarding the registration steps can be made through the Authority’s official platforms or by calling the Customer Service Center at 199002.
It clarified that, starting from the scheduled date for the commencement of registration, a "property number" and a title deed for each registered real estate unit. The title deed will include the property’s details, description, condition, and associated rights and obligations linked to precise geospatial information, thereby contributing to the strengthening of infrastructure and the sustainability of the real estate sector, as the real estate registration system aims to increase real estate reliability and enhance transparency in the real estate sector.
