The General Authority for Tourism and National Heritage revealed that more than 800,000 pilgrims occupied more than 155,000 rooms in Makkah, representing an increase of over 13% compared to last year, The Authority reported that more than 30,000 rooms will be completed over the next two years to help serve pilgrims and visitors to the Sacred House of God, providing comfortable lodging and accommodations for the guests of the Most Merciful.

The General Authority for Tourism and Antiquities in Makkah had conducted field inspection tours to monitor prices at tourist accommodation facilities in Makkah during the current Hajj season, which included approximately 800 establishments, follow up on complaints submitted to the branch, and work to address them in accordance with applicable regulations and standards—which may include closure in the event of repeated violations.

The General Authority for Tourism and Antiquities in Makkah stated that the teams began their work by monitoring service levels and prices and improving the quality of services provided to pilgrims visiting the Sacred House of God, particularly with regard to the cleanliness of facilities, the display of the Authority’s license and the facility’s rating, and the price list, all of which must be clearly visible to guests, as well as compliance with the necessary security and safety requirements approved by the Authority and its partners—the Holy Capital Municipality, the police, and Civil Defense.”
