In an important step toward enhancing transparency and reliability in the real estate market, the General Real Estate Authority announced the launch of Real Estate Registry in the Makkah region, which will begin next Sunday, January 19, 2025, and continue through April 24, 2025. This system aims to modernize and improve the real estate infrastructure, thereby boosting confidence in the real estate market and contributing to the achievement of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 goals.

The registration process covers 19,239 real estate parcels

The work of the Real Estate Registry will cover 19,239 real estate parcels spread across 28 neighborhoods in the Makkah region. The neighborhoods benefiting from this phase include several areas such as: Al-Safwa, Dar Al-Salam, Al-Naseem, Al-Shumaisi, Al-Tarwiyah, and Al-Rashidiyah, in addition to many other neighborhoods, providing a large number of citizens and residents of Makkah with the opportunity to benefit from this service.

How to Register and the Application Process

Registration can be completed through the electronic Land Registry platform (https://rer.sa) or at authorized service centers. Property owners must verify the authenticity of their title deeds and ensure that all necessary regulatory requirements are met to successfully complete the registration process.

Issuance of a “Property Number” and Electronic Title Deeds

Starting on the registration commencement date, a “Property Number” will be issued for each registered property, along with an electronic title deed containing precise details about the property, such as its description, condition, rights, and obligations. The deed will also include geospatial information about the property, which will help improve the accuracy of real estate information and enhance transparency in real estate transactions.

The Goal of Real Property Registration: Enhancing Reliability and Transparency

Real estate registration aims to raise the level of real estate reliability, thereby enhancing transparency in real estate transactions and reducing the legal and financial risks associated with the sector. Through this initiative, the General Real Estate Authority seeks to develop and improve the real estate sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in line with the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

Call to Verify and Prepare for Registration

The Authority has called on all property owners in the eligible neighborhoods to verify the registration requirements and ensure the validity of their title deeds in preparation for the process. They can also inquire about the detailed procedures through official platforms or by contacting the Customer Service Center at 199002.

This step represents a significant leap toward enhancing transparency and reliability in the Kingdom’s real estate sector, benefiting all stakeholders.
