The Indonesian government plans to develop a project to build one million affordable housing units as part of President Prabowo Subianto’s programs to provide housing suitable for the lower segments of the urban middle class.
Indonesian Housing Minister Marwarar Serait emphasized that the project focuses on meeting the needs of the lower middle class living in cities, noting that improving the quality of life for this group is a national priority.
This project is part of the Indonesian President’s campaign promise to build 3 million homes annually in villages and cities, with the aim of addressing the housing crisis and supporting low- and middle-income groups, which reflects the government’s commitment to implementing ambitious development programs.
The project is expected to contribute to improving housing conditions in Indonesian cities and narrowing the home ownership gap among social classes. The project will also strengthen the real estate and infrastructure sectors and support sustainable development by creating an environment conducive to affordable housing.
