The Ministry of Commerce strengthened the legislative framework in 2024 with the issuance of five laws and regulations developed to enhance confidence in the business environment.
This included the issuance of the Commercial Registry Law, the Trade Names Regulation, an amendment to the Precious Metals and Gemstones Regulation, an amendment to the Executive Regulations for Private Laboratories, and the issuance of executive instructions for the application of penalties for violations falling under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Commerce.
To promote the principle of transparency and foster a culture of consultation and participation, the Ministry Commerce all regulations and bylaws prior to their issuance via the “Istisla’al” platform, enabling the public, government agencies, and the private sector to submit feedback and proposals for their improvement before they are finalized.
