The Ministry of Housing planned a practical, serious and vital step in the infrastructure of grant schemes, by signing an agreement to deliver electrical service to 29 schemes in the Kingdom, worth 14 billion riyals with the Saudi Electricity Company, and the first agreement to deliver electricity to housing projects worth 4 billion riyals, this came during the special ceremony held on this occasion, which was attended by His Excellency the Minister of Housing Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail and the Minister of Water and Electricity Engineer Abdullah bin Abdulrahman Al-Hussein.

He explained that the first set of contracts for the delivery of electricity to a number of sites of the Ministry of Housing projects with a total value of 4 billion riyals includes five central and substations and expansion of existing stations, with a voltage of 380 kilovolts, the construction of 15 substations (132/110) kilovolts, and the construction of cable lines (132/110) kilovolts with a length of approximately 55 kilometers, He pointed out that the work at SEC will continue to complete the bidding and award procedures for the rest of the electricity connection projects to the sites of the projects implemented by the Ministry of Housing, and is expected to be completed, God willing, within the next few months." .
About the agreement between the Ministry of Water and Electricity and the Saudi Electricity Company, the CEO of SEC revealed that in this agreement, 29 grant schemes were prioritized, including 9 schemes in the central region, 13 schemes in the western region, and 7 schemes in the eastern region, and the total number of pieces in these schemes (142.463) pieces with a total value of 14 billion riyals.

He stressed that the company is working with all its human, technical and material capabilities to keep pace with the needs of all development projects in different regions of the Kingdom, and to accommodate the increasing growth in demand for electric power, which exceeded 10% on average this summer, which is very high by international standards.
