His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Eastern Province, recently reviewed in his office a presentation on the investment project for the construction, development, operation, and investment in Dammam Creek on the Eastern Coast along the Dammam Corniche, in the presence of His Excellency the Secretary of the Region, Engineer Fahad Al-Jubeir, and a number of senior officials from the Secretariat.
His Highness praised the support received by the municipal sector from the wise leadership—may God protect them—emphasizing the importance of ensuring sustainability in projects to contribute to achieving a high quality of life, improving the urban landscape, and humanizing cities, and the optimal utilization of cultural assets. He commended the outcomes of these projects and investment initiatives, as well as the integration with other relevant entities, the attraction of investors, and the promotion of investment.
His Highness explained that such blessed investment projects will have a positive impact on fulfilling aspirations to serve people and contribute to strengthening the region’s distinctive tourism and entertainment infrastructure, in line with the Kingdom’s current efforts to attract distinctive and high-quality investments, and will create job opportunities for young men and women across the country in various fields.
For his part, His Excellency Engineer Al-Jubeir explained that this investment project was launched under the guidance of His Highness the Governor of the Eastern Province and His Highness the Deputy Governor, and is being overseen by His Excellency the Minister of Municipalities and Housing. It is an extension of the Regional Secretariat’s efforts to revitalize economic activity and advance the region’s development in partnership with the private sector, thereby reinforcing its efforts to improve the urban landscape and develop waterfront areas, He noted that the project spans an area of more than 200,000 square meters, with a limited building density to provide more space for visitors and parkgoers. It includes recreational, tourist, and sports activities, as well as restaurants and cafes, a walking trail, and open spaces—all while preserving the environment and mangrove vegetation—in addition to environmental solutions to ensure sustainability.
Al-Jubeir noted that the Secretariat has contributed to boosting investment activity in the region by encouraging investors to propose innovative ideas and stimulating the investment environment across various sectors, and attracting high-quality investments that help improve service levels, raise the quality of life, and expand the range of investment options in the Eastern Province.
