By the numbers. «Municipalities and Housing» confirms the readiness of its system to serve pilgrims

The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing announced its readiness for the 1446 AH Hajj season, as part of its ongoing work and efforts through the Secretariat of the Holy Capital and other supporting secretariats to provide convenient services to the guests of Allah in a safe environment, through an integrated operational system that encompasses service, regulatory, health, and field operations, in addition to support and emergency response centers.
The plan of the Ministry and its secretariats is based on providing the resources and capabilities necessary to meet the requirements of the Hajj season; The operational plan includes more than 2,800 pieces of heavy equipment and machinery, and more than 22,000 personnel from various technical and supervisory specialties, including more than 14,000 personnel to support sanitation services, more than 87,000 containers, 1,235 electric waste compactors with a capacity of up to 10 metric tons per unit, and 118 ground-level storage facilities.
The facilities included (177) shelters with a capacity of up to (15,300) pilgrims, as well as a main food safety laboratory with an operational capacity of more than (700) samples per day, supported by (4) mobile laboratories with an operational capacity of (200) samples per laboratory per day, in addition to the establishment of Operations Center (940) for municipal services, as well as a joint operations center with 911 to ensure rapid response and effective coordination, alongside 28 municipal service centers in the Holy Sites; of these, 22 are in Mina, 3 centers in the Muzdalifah area, and 3 in the Arafat area, ensuring full coverage of the holy sites. These centers utilize modern technologies and artificial intelligence to streamline procedures for pilgrims and provide the necessary services in an appropriate manner.
As part of its volunteer efforts, the Ministry, represented by the Secretariat of the Holy Capital, has provided a variety of volunteer opportunities, including public sanitation, monitoring, preserving the blessings of the pilgrimage, honoring the deceased, and other initiatives.
The Municipalities and Housing System continues to implement its operational and field plan, which contributes to enhancing the efficiency of infrastructure and service facilities, as well as sanitation and health monitoring, and the implementation of technological solutions that enable the provision of immediate, multilingual services to meet the needs of pilgrims at the Holy Sites.
These efforts are an extension of the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing’s role in providing the best services during the Hajj season, with the aim of ensuring the highest standards of quality and effectiveness through oversight, sanitation, and facilitating access to a variety of services, and making the pilgrims" journey easier, thereby helping them perform the Hajj rituals with ease and peace of mind.
