Riyadh Expo 2030, which is wholly owned by the Public Investment Fund, has announced the appointment of Engineer Talal bin Hussein Al-Marri as Chief Executive Officer. He will lead the company responsible for developing and operating Expo 2030 Riyadh, which is considered one of the most important international events anticipated during the current decade.
Al-Muri possesses extensive professional experience in managing operational processes, and prior to assuming his current position, Al-Meri held several leadership roles at Aramco, most notably President and CEO of Aramco Europe, Senior Vice President of Community Services, and Senior Vice President of Industrial Services.
During his tenure as President and Chief Executive Officer of Aramco Europe, Al-Meri oversaw the company’s investments in Europe and led numerous strategic initiatives that supported the company’s digital transformation efforts; he also undertook several international assignments in London.
With his extensive experience, Al-Muri will play a key role in leading the company’s efforts to deliver an exceptional Expo 2030 Riyadh, highlighting the Kingdom’s ambitions and remarkable progress in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
The establishment of Expo 2030 Riyadh comes as part of the Public Investment Fund’s strategy aimed at achieving tangible economic impact and sustainable returns for the Kingdom, as the Fund oversees numerous pioneering real estate development initiatives in the Kingdom that will play a role in driving economic growth, fostering innovation in urban areas, and improving quality of life.
Expo 2030 Riyadh is expected to serve as a gathering place for nations and a platform to strengthen international cooperation and present innovative solutions and technologies to address the most pressing global challenges, and will help drive economic growth and enhance opportunities and potential for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the world at large. Expo 2030 Riyadh, together with an integrated network of the Fund’s local and international partners, will contribute to realizing the Kingdom’s aspirations to organize an exceptional and unprecedented edition of the World Expo.
