A number of officials and experts in the field of professional associations called for the establishment of an association to develop and regulate the events sector in the Kingdom, during a session of «Proposal for an Events Organization Association» held as part of the 2015 Travel and Tourism Investment Forum, organized by the General Authority for Tourism and Antiquities from the 9th to the 14th of Jumada al-Akhira at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center, and to begin forming an advisory committee of experts and specialists to develop a general strategy aimed at advancing the events sector.
In his speech, Dr. Faisal Al-Fadl, Director General of Legal Affairs at the General Authority for Tourism and Antiquities, emphasized the importance of professional associations and their role in facilitating communication among members, developing operations, providing services, and evaluating performance, as well as opening multiple channels for dissemination and promoting teamwork and professional cooperation.
