During the spring break, the Makkah Fairmont, Makkah Raffles, and Makkah Swissôtel group offered the market more than 3,000 hotel units, including rooms, suites, hotel apartments, and royal suites, to serve the guests of the Holy Mosque during this season.

Mazen Andijani, the group’s Director of Sales, confirmed that the relevant departments, through diversifying their marketing strategies, offered promotions and packages designed to attract guests with competitive rates for rooms, suites, food, and beverages, and other services, in addition to national loyalty and reward programs, which has increased their market share,

Andijani added that the high occupancy rate, which exceeded the 80% mark, is due to the Umrah seasons in general, as pilgrims from all over the world flock to visit the Sacred House of God, in addition to the 10-day mid-second-semester break. Andijani noted that, like any tourism market, it is affected by seasonality, which in turn influences the type of visitors, and during this short break, the vast majority of visitors were from the Gulf and domestic travelers, due to the proximity and the ease of entry and exit requirements for Gulf citizens.
