The General Authority for Tourism and Antiquities in Makkah confirmed that the tourist accommodation sector has seen a significant increase in hotel bookings during the year-end holiday season, The Authority stated that it had ensured the readiness of tourist accommodation facilities for visitors and Umrah pilgrims during the Umrah season and the mid-year holiday through 795 accommodation facilities with a total capacity of 155,000 rooms.

Furthermore, reports revealed that the occupancy rate for residential facilities in Makkah reached 90% due to high demand during the Umrah season and the mid-year school break in the central region and surrounding areas, prompting experts in the hotel sector to confirm that the real estate market in Makkah has maintained strong seasonal demand, which is driving the expansion of hotel facilities, particularly in strategic areas near the Holy Mosque.

For his part, an official at one of the major hotels in the central region explained that the growing demand, which is in line with supply, raises the occupancy rate to 100% during peak times, noting that reasonable and competitive pricing is driving market recovery. He added that room rates rise depending on the facility’s proximity to the Holy Mosque.
