Following a huge success, the Saudi Plastics and Petrochemicals Exhibition 2016 and the Saudi Printing and Packaging Exhibition—the largest exhibition in the Middle East specializing in the plastics, petrochemicals, printing, and packaging industries— attracting more than 26,000 visitors, including industry professionals and enthusiasts, with daily attendance reaching over 6,000. Visitors expressed their admiration for this year’s edition of the exhibition, This year’s exhibition featured large exhibition spaces where local and international companies competed to showcase their products and meet industry stakeholders from various countries.
On the sidelines of the event’s closing ceremony, Mr. Kamil Al-Jawhari, Director of the Saudi Plastics and Petrochemicals Exhibition, stated: «Since its inception, the exhibition has been considered one of the best in the world and one of the largest and most successful in the region, as evidenced by the scale of commercial deals concluded during the event, the number of attendees from official delegations and national representatives, the caliber of exhibitors, and the quality of offerings presented, as well as the growing number of participants and the exhibition’s continuous development from one edition to the next.»
He explained that the exhibition’s success this year was reflected in the number of commercial deals recorded—approximately 414 deals that have been announced so far by most participating exhibitors—and is the best evidence that the event has succeeded in reinforcing its leading position as one of the foremost global gatherings for industry expertsand decision-makers from around the world, as well as being one of the most fruitful venues for concluding deals and the ideal place for leaders in the plastics and petrochemical industries to conduct their business.
He noted that «The recently concluded edition of the exhibition was exceptional, reflecting the reality of the Kingdom’s industrial and commercial landscape and showcasing it to the world. The total value of deals reached 216 million Saudi riyals, which is vivid proof of the economy’s strength and its appeal to countries around the world.»
During the last two days of the exhibition, most of the domestic and international deals were concluded, adding to the total number of deals made by participating companies throughout the event.
It is worth noting that the latest technologies and solutions were showcased under the auspices of the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Research, highlighting the economic potential of the Saudi market and the available investment opportunities. It also received Diamond-level sponsorship from the Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) and the National Industrialization Company, as well as Platinum-level sponsorship from both the Saudi Polymer Company and the Advanced Petrochemicals Company, in addition to support from numerous local companies that benefited from opportunities for cooperation and networking with participating international firms.
