The hospitality sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is experiencing a boom, as confirmed by data from the General Authority for Statistics. The data showed a significant increase in the number of licensed tourism hospitality facilities in the Kingdom, underscoring the commitment of all relevant institutions to diversifying sources of income.
According to the data, the number of licensed tourism hospitality facilities in the Kingdom has increased by 58%, bringing the total to 5,326 facilities by the end of the second quarter of 2025, compared to 3,371 facilities during the same period in 2024.
Based on data from General Authority for Statistics, the scale of the increase in tourism hospitality facilities within the Kingdom, with hotels leading the way at 52.6% of the total number of these facilities, amounting to 2,799 hotels, followed by serviced apartments and other hospitality facilities at 47.4%, with 2,527 facilities, reflecting a notable expansion of the Kingdom’s tourism infrastructure
Prices are a key factor in tourists" willingness to visit the Kingdom for a unique travel experience. According to the data, the average daily hotel room rate was approximately 643 riyals during the second quarter of 2025, a decrease of 3.9% compared to the rate in the same quarter of the previous year, which stood at 669 riyals.
As for rooms in serviced apartments and other hospitality facilities, the rate stood at 201 riyals, marking a slight increase of 1% compared to 199 riyals last year.
