The General Authority for Tourism and National Heritage , represented by its General Directorate of Licensing, has intensified its efforts by developing a plan to step up oversight of hotels and furnished residential units through inspection teams at the Authority’s regional branches, which are responsible for supervising and inspecting tourist accommodation facilities in various regions of the Kingdom during this vacation.
Mr. Omar Al-Mubarak, Director General of the Licensing Department, explained that the Authority has intensified its efforts in preparation for the mid-second-semester break, as is customary during all seasons and holidays when there is high demand for tourist accommodation facilities, noting that monitoring efforts continue throughout the year.
He added, «The Authority’s inspection teams across all regions of the Kingdom will carry out their inspection tours of tourist accommodation facilities according to the established schedule to ensure these facilities comply with service quality standards and pricing, display price lists and signage regarding licenses and classification ratings, and receive thereceipts in a clearly visible location at tourist accommodation facilities licensed by the Authority.»
Al-Mubarak called on citizens and residents to promptly report any observations or complaints by calling the Tourism Call Center (19988) or by contacting the Authority’s regional branch, noting that the Authority will take regulatory action against violators in accordance with regulations and instructions.
