In support of the tourism sector in the Makkah Region, Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Governor of the Makkah Region, has approved the formation of a consultative body for development in the Makkah Region, comprising 13 experts from various regions of the Kingdom. Dr. Hisham Al-Faleh, Advisor to the Governor of the Makkah Region and General Supervisor of the Emirate’s Development Agency, explained that the Governor’s approval of the committee’s formation—with participation from various regions of the Kingdom— stemmed from His Highness’s belief in the importance of having experts involved in formulating a concept of comprehensive, integrated performance in development projects, as well as achieving developmental integration among the outputs of various government agencies. He noted that the Makkah Region is on the verge of an important development phase, particularly in the Holy Capital, which requires cooperation with various government and private entities—a process currently being restructured through the Makkah and Holy Sites Development Authority with the assistance of distinguished local and international consulting firms, In addition to all this, the Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Governor of the Makkah Region has issued directives to engage specialists and solicit opinions and proposals across various sectors—including social, economic, urban, health, media, and culture, for consultation and to chart the future of development in the region, ensuring that the concept of development integrates both human development and physical development.
