More than one million passengers passed through King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah during the spring break, which coincided with the mid-second-semester break, Statistics indicate that the airport handled 7,883 domestic and international flights throughout the spring break, carrying 1,094,000 passengers.

According to statistics released by the airport, domestic flights last week totaled approximately 2,275, including both arrivals and departures, carrying nearly 316,000 passengers to various airports across the Kingdom. Meanwhile, international flights operated by various airlines at the airport totaled 3,095 international flights arriving in and departing from Jeddah, carrying 432,000 passengers. Meanwhile, the Hajj and Umrah terminals recorded the arrival and departure of 346,000 Umrah pilgrims on 2,513 flights throughout the week.

It is worth noting that King Abdulaziz Airport is the busiest airport in the Kingdom, with more than 30 million passengers passing through in 2015, while work continues on the new airport project, which is scheduled for completion in late 2017 and whose operation will contribute to a quantum leap in the Kingdom’s air transport sector.
