The expanded polystyrene panel industry in Saudi Arabia is a shining example of a national product that combines engineering precision and environmental sustainability. This product has taken its place in major construction sites, as it is considered an advanced thermal insulation system designed to suit the harsh desert climate.

Technical specifications
These panels are characterized by varying densities ranging from 10-12 kg/m³ to 35-48 kg/m³ , giving them exceptional compressive strength. Their strength lies in their very low thermal conductivity, making them an effective barrier against heat loss into buildings. Furthermore, they are lightweight, moisture-resistant, and non-combustible thanks to the addition of flame-retardant chemicals that meet international standards.

The manufacturing journey
The process begins with plastic resin granules that are steam-cured in huge vats, expanding to 50 times their original size. These expanded granules are then transferred to ventilated silos to ensure stability, before being pressed into giant molds under high pressure and steam to form massive blocks. Finally, these blocks are cut using precision heat-shrink tubing controlled by a digital system to produce sheets with thicknesses ranging from 1 cm to 50 cm, depending on the required size.

Quality and competition
The Saudi product has outperformed the imported one thanks to its use of high-quality local raw materials (feedstock) produced by the national petrochemical giant, which reduces transportation costs and ensures the freshness of the material.
These panels undergo rigorous testing in Saudi laboratories to comply with the Saudi Building Code (SBC), making them the first choice for mega projects, as they provide thermal insulation that reduces electricity consumption by up to 40% , thus surpassing their global counterparts in durability and lifespan.
