Chairman of the Saudi Contractors Authority Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al Ajlan believes that the contracting sector has become a key partner in implementing the objectives of Vision 2030, noting that mega projects such as Neom, Qiddiya, Diriyah, Red Sea and Roshan have reshaped the market structure and created unprecedented opportunities.
Al Ajlan explained that the size of the contracting sector in Saudi Arabia exceeded one trillion riyals, with about 200 thousand contracting companies operating within the local market.<He also pointed out that 8 key sectors have been directly affected by the vision projects, including education, real estate, energy, utilities, healthcare, manufacturing, transportation, logistics, tourism, entertainment and hospitality, which has boosted demand for construction services extensively.
The growth of the contracting sector is closely linked to the expansion of the logistics sector, with road, port and airport projects being one of the main drivers of demand. Ajlan emphasizes that the significant development in logistics infrastructure reinforces Saudi Arabia's position as a regional investment center and opens the way for more construction projects in the coming years.

The projects were distributed among multiple sectors, including education worth SAR 3.975 billion, the commercial sector worth SAR 3.750 billion, an investment hotel worth SAR 2.497 billion, projects in sports and entertainment facilities worth SAR 2.478 billion, as well as projects in the hospital, buildings, public utilities and energy sectors.

Riyadh dominates the map of projects
The report of the Contractors Authority showed that the Riyadh region topped the scene in terms of value and number of projects, with a total of 9 projects worth 15.513 billion riyals representing about 82% of the total value, while Mecca recorded one project worth 99.75 million riyals, and Najran one project worth 50.25 million riyals. The report also predicted the delivery of 6 projects during 2032 worth more than 11.775 billion riyals, in addition to other projects to be delivered during 2026, 2027, 2028 and 2030, reflecting the extension of the project cycle in the medium and long term.
