The average cost of a hotel stay at hotels within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia rose in May 2026 by 3.3% compared to April of the same year, reaching 478.5 riyals, compared to 463.1 riyals in the previous month, according to data from the General Authority for Statistics in its report “Average Prices of Goods and Services.”
On a year-over-year basis, the data showed a notable decline in average hotel accommodation prices by 11.9% compared to May 2025, with the average price reaching 478.5 riyals compared to 543.3 riyals during the same period last year. As for furnished apartments, average accommodation rates stabilized at 282.1 riyals during April and May 2026 with no significant change, indicating stability in this sector over the short term.
On a year-over-year basis, furnished apartments recorded a 10% decline, with the average rental rate falling to 282.2 riyals in May 2026 compared to 313.5 riyals in May 2025, reflecting continued price pressures in this accommodation segment despite recent monthly stability.
